Guadalajara is the second largest city in Mexico and regarded as the most Mexican city. The Historic Center has colonial style architecture painted with a variety of Mexican colors. There is a series of plazas that extends for ten blocks and makes for a pleasant and interesting walk.
Guadalajara is the capital of Jalisco, famous for mariachis and tequila, both of which you will easily find in Guadalajara.
Tlaquepaque and Tonala are part of the greater metropolitan area and have all sorts of decorative arts and handicrafts for the home. Many items that you can find in stores at home are sourced here.
Outside the Historic Center there are a number of shopping malls, parks, residential areas, etc. that one expects to find in a modern city.
Guadalajara has a wonderful climate year round and attracts visitors all year.
